The Commission
This painting was commissioned by Ala 23 of the Spanish Air & Space Force, to feature one of their 233 Sqn MQ-9 Predator B UAV’s flying over its home base at Talavera la Real.
The squadron crest for 233 Sqn features a bird of prey design that can be rotated to represent day and night. The theme of the painting therefore represents a dusk scene indicating the transition from daytime into night-time.
